
Dumas Beach
Dumas Beach is a rural beach along the Arabian Sea, located 21 kilometres (13 mi) southwest of the city of Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat.[1] It is a popular tourist destination in South Gujarat. Dumas beach is known for its black sand and Apart from the beach, places of interest at Dumas include the Dariya Ganesh Temple located adjacent to the main beach.
Gaurishankar Lake Bhavnagar Gaurishankar lake is also known by the name Bor Talav and Bhavnagar Lake. This lake is located amidst hills and offers a picturesque view. People from the city come here often to spend an entire day as its a very popular picnic spot. The lake view is spectacular and also is a treat for bird watchers. The lake offers an opportunity to view some pelicans, geese, cranes, ducks, and waders especially during the summer months. Many events are organised at this lake which helps in increasing the popularity of this place. It was built under the guidance of Shri Gaurishankar Oza who used to be the Deewan of Bhavnagar. This lake was built in 1872 with the main aim of it being a water reservoir for drinking water. However, today it makes it to the list of being a preferred tourist and a picnic spot in the city. It has also got its name from Mr. Gauishankar Oza. There is also a Shiva temple as he used to worship Lord Shiva.
How to get there
By Road: Surat lies 267 km from Ahmedabad, 131km from Vadodara, and 297 km from Mumbai. Bus stations, both ST and private, are on the eastern edge of the city.
By Rail: Rain stations are also on the eastern edge of the city.
By Air: Various domestic flights connecting metros and other major cities are operational from the Surat Airport.
