Sharad Bagh Palace

Sharad Bagh Palace, which is known as Rajavatika is the king’s residence right up to 1991 when the last king of Kachchh, Madansingh died, the palace is now a museum. Sharad Baug used to be the residence of the Royals until Madansingh, the last king of Kutch who died in the year 1991. The palace is a splendid piece of work that reflects a fusion of the Indian and the Italian style of architecture. The sitting room, living room, and bedroom occupy maximum space in the palace while the dining room is in another building. The furniture design has an Italian influence while the tapestry on the walls is purely Indian. With beautiful gardens of many flowering and medicinal plants, the palace grounds houses many migrating birds as they stop for a rest on their way.
